Acute Care Surgeon – Full-time

Luminis Health is looking for a surgeon to join our busy emergency general surgery service which provides 24/7 coverage to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis and Doctor’s Community Medical Center in Lanham.

Anne Arundel Medical Center is a growing medical center with a dedication to patient centered care and the local community. Annapolis is a beautiful community on the Chesapeake Bay, which serves as the state’s capital. It is located a short 30 min drive from Washington DC and Baltimore, with all the important amenities available locally.

Doctor’s Community Medical Center is located in Lanham, Maryland and has received multiple awards for its commitment to care for the residents of Prince George’s county. It is located just outside of the capital beltway and is close to all of the major amenities of Washington DC.

The Department of Surgery at Anne Arundel Health System is seeking to add to our Acute Care Surgery team for both Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctors Community Hospital.

• Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD
o High-volume emergency general surgery service
o 385 bed hospital
• Doctor’s Community Hospital in Lanham, MD
o 210 bed hospital

Qualifications:
• Strong clinical background with interest in teaching residents and other learners.
• Additional focus on clinical research and quality/outcome improvement is preferred.
• Acute Care Surgery (ACS) provides 24 hr coverage to both hospitals with regular resident coverage.
• EPIC experience, a plus

Requirements:
• Board certified/board eligible in general surgery
• All members of the ACS team will be working at both locations.
• Graduating fellows are welcome to apply.
• Applicants should be comfortable with all common general surgery procedures, experience in wound care or endoscopy is a plus.
• ICU time may also be available for interested and qualified candidates.
• Some elective general surgery may be available in the future.
