Company Overview

Our Client is a leading Tech company. We are currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented UX/UI Designer to join our team for a 6-month contract. This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office presence at our Downtown Toronto location to foster collaboration.

Position Summary

As a UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for creating intuitive, user-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing digital experiences across our products. You will work on the full design lifecycle, from user research and wireframing to prototyping, visual design, and handoff to developers. This role requires a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for crafting exceptional interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• User Research and Analysis: Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
• UX Design: Develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and validate user journeys.
• UI Design: Create high-fidelity visual designs, including layouts, typography, color palettes, and icons, ensuring brand consistency and a compelling aesthetic.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-friendly design solutions.
• Prototyping and Testing: Build interactive prototypes for user testing and presentations to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
• Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system and component library to ensure efficiency and scalability across products.
• Handoff: Prepare and deliver clear design specifications and assets to development teams, ensuring a smooth implementation process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a clear understanding of both user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD ).
• Experience with conducting user research and usability testing.
• Solid understanding of responsive design principles for web and mobile applications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand technical constraints.
• Familiarity with motion design or animation principles.
• Experience in designing for accessibility (WCAG standards).

This is a 6-month contract with a hybrid work model. The successful candidate will be expected to work from our Downtown Toronto office 3 to 4 days per week, with the option to work remotely for the remaining days.
